The Redwood RS1 beginner's electric guitar is a fantastic introduction into the world of music. The lightweight, contoured body shape is matched with a slender and highly playable neck, with a versatile array of tones available via the excellent electronics' setup. Don't be fooled by the price tag, this is an affordable model that punches well above its weight.
Lightweight and Comfortable Body Shape
The body has been designed to ensure as comfortable a playing feel as possible. To guarantee this, Redwood has used ergonomically designed contours to enable the body to rest snugly against yours as you play. Adding to the comfortability of the playing feel, basswood has been used as it has the fantastic qualities of being light in weight, without sacrificing on tone. Basswood produces a fantastic response across the frequency spectrum, with an excellent balance across lows, mids, and highs. The body is finished in a sophisticated black, whilst a 3-ply white pickguard offers a stark visual contrast, offering protection against unwanted pick scrapes.
Slender, Easy to Navigate Neck
A bolt-on maple neck is attached to the body, creating a solid, anchored playing support. The neck is shaped to a comfortable "C" profile, giving it a slender feel in the hand. The rigid nature of the maple makes it easy to fret chords, and gives a smoother feel when running your hand up and down it. Married to the neck is a sonokelin fingerboard, which carries 21-frets that have white dot position inlays to aid you as you navigate the fingerboard.
Versatile Pickup Arrangement
The Redwood RS1 contains three Wilkinson single-coil pickups in the neck, middle, and bridge (offset) positions respectively. A 5-way pickup switch allows you to select pickups individually, or create subtle blends of two or three at a time - depending on the tone you desire. Using the master volume and two tone pots, you can sculpt your output exactly as you wish. Whether you're looking to execute intricate jazz chops, master the art of country chicken pickin', or shred like a pro, the RS1 has tones to suit every musical genre and style.
Fitted to the body is a single-direction tremolo in the bridge, which allows you to infuse subtle vibrato into your playing. The bridge provides a seamless connection between the strings and body for an anchored playing feel. The tuning machines uphold tuning integrity, whilst working with the nut to maintain string tension and tuning stability.
