The VHT Lead 20 is a 2 channel hand wired, all valve amplifier with built in reverb, an effects loop and constructed using a high Grade 11-ply Finger-Jointed Birch Plywood Cabinet.
The VHT Lead 20 has more gain than the rest of the VHT family, making this a great choice for rock and blues guitarists for singing leads and dirty riffs. 2x EL84 power valves and 4x 12AX7 preamp tubes power the amp giving a bell like clean and powerful, gritty overdrive. The clean tone on this amplifier is stunning, offering just the right amount of warm bottom end, correctly voiced upper mid-range and a very clean and pronounced top-end. The second channel unleashes the overdriven lead sound, providing plenty of overdrive and wonderful harmonics when driven really hard. 20 watts might give the impression that this amp isn't loud enough to cope with a drummer but take our word for it, this amp is easily capable of being loud enough to cope with even the hardest hitting drummer.
Celestion G12H Speaker
The Celestion G12M was one of the defining speakers of rock and pop music history thanks to its ground breaking heavier magnet. Most of Jimi Hendrix's recording were made using cabinets loaded with G12M speakers. This VHT cabinet is fitted with a G12H speaker, a faithful recreation of the G12M from the voice coil former all the way down to the glue formations. This speaker offers a thick and warm bottom end.
