Working closely with the man himself PRS have collaborated with Bernie Marsden, of Whitesnake fame, on his new signature model, the PRS SE Bernie Marsden Electric Guitar. Active in the music world for over thirty years and known for his bluesy style, here is a man who knows what he wants from a guitar and won’t settle for second best.
Although set up to be not a million miles away from the coveted SC 245, the PRS SE Bernie Marsden offers the same great raunchy rock tone, but at a more affordable price. Nothing has been skimped on, however, with all the quality and dependability you would expect of PRS and the addition of vintage aesthetics.
A visually stunning guitar the PRS SE Bernie Marsden features a carved maple top with a flame maple veneer and a thicker than usual mahogany body, all accentuated by a crème binding and finished in vintage sunburst. The crème binding is continued along the bound rosewood fingerboard where it meets the mahogany neck. Finishing off the classic styling of the PRS SE Bernie Marsden are vintage Grommet-style tuners.
The guitar isn’t all about looks, however, (although it helps). The PRS SE Bernie Marsden is also a fantastic player with a comfortable, shorter, 24.5" scale length and a wide, fat profile that’s perfect for those who like a meatier neck.
The PRS SE Bernie Marsden provides a classic voice thanks to two humbuckers in the form of the PRS Designed SE 245 Treble & SE 245 Bass pickups. A single tone and two volume knobs control these, along side a three-way toggle pickup selector situated conveniently at the upper bout.
