Having played PRS guitars since the early ‘90s it seems only fitting Tim Mahoney should receive his own model. Based on the mahogany ‘Standard 24’ PRS that’s had a big hand in crafting the sound of 311 for over 10 years the PRS SE Tim Mahoney Electric Guitar is the signature guitar created to honour the band’s lead guitarist.
Not as commonly seen as multi-wood guitars the PRS SE Tim Mahoney features an all-mahogany body. It’s this, however, that gives the guitar its especially warm tone, but still with plenty of bite. Although usually capped to give brighter highs the all mahogany body doesn’t pierce so much and along with full lows, gives a great depth of sound.
Wide and thin the PRS SE Tim Mahoney Electric Guitar’s neck profile is really comfortable to play. Maple in construction with a rosewood fingerboard the neck also adds clarity to the top-end and thickness to the bottom end; providing more sweetness and warmth to the PRS SE Tim Mahoney Guitar’s tonal palette. What’s more the 24-fret fingerboard is adorned with classic PRS bird inlays.
The PRS SE Tim Mahoney Electric Guitar comes fully loaded with PRS Designed SE HFS Treble and SE Vintage Bass humbucker pickups, controllable with volume and tone controls and a three-way toggle pickup selector.
