Ibanez
Ibanez was born in earnest in 1929, when the Japanese company, Hoshino Gakki began importing Spanish guitars, built by Salvador Ibanez. Later, the Spanish workshop was destroyed, but the Japanese firm decided to continue producing guitars, after acquiring the rights to the name Ibanez.
Ibanez were on of the first guitar brands to reinforce the notion that the words ‘Made in Japan’ were a sign of a guitar of incredible quality. In true Japanese tradition, the company is a great innovator. It was the first company to mass-produce a seven-string electric guitar, and its innovations and high production values make their instruments the first choice of an army of guitarists across the globe to this day.
