The addition of an acoustic bass in any musical situation adds a layer of warm, low-end resonance that makes songs come alive. The AEB full-sized body provides rich tones while the 32" neck scale offers the right combination of tonal warmth, easy playability and clear articulation.
The body of the Ibanez AEB8E-BK Electro Acoustic Bass Guitar uses a top, back, and sides built from an agathis tonewood. Agathis is comparible to a mahogany tonewood, although agathis is lighter, it's tonal characteristics are warm, and provides a good punch of bass frequencies. The body is finished in dark black, providing a beautiful look across the agathis body.
Ibanez have used mahogany in the neck construction of the AEB8E-BK Bass. The mahogany neck is hard-wearing and stable, yet very comfortable, transitioning is easy on a neck this smooth. The fingerboard wears rosewood, a popular material in the construction of fretboards due to it's soft and accurate feel, providing near-effortless playability.
The Ibanez SPT preamp on the AEG8E provides a thumping, full-bodied tone when plugged in, and easily will fill a concert hall during stage performances. The preamp also has a 3-band tone control and shape control along with a built-in electronic tuner. In addition to the 1/4" output jack, a balanced XLR jack is included for direct connection to PA. AA battery operation avoids the difficulty in finding replacement batteries.
