The Ibanez S420-WK is part of the highly acclaimed Ibanez S Series. With its Weathered Black finish, Infinity pickups and ZR ball bearing tremolo the S420 rocks in pretty much every way. The Ibanez S series first appeared in 1987. Ever since, it has changed in appearance and function to represent the cutting edge of Ibanez design. Famous for its lightweight carved mahogany body, the S can take a beating while still providing the resonance of guitars twice its size. The S series also comes equipped with the ZR tremolo system, a smooth ball bearing tremolo that makes every subtle nuance of whammy bar use come alive.
ZR Tremolo
Zero Resistance technology, replaces standard knife-edge pivots with a ball-bearing based pivot joint, which provides greater tuning stability. This unique system stabilizes the bridge and insures tuning stability by consistently returning the tremolo to the center point (or zero point). In addition to the usual tremolo springs, the Zero Point System features two additional springs which insures the bridge’s return to the center point.
