The MXR M300 by Jim Dunlop provides the user with six diverse reverb styles, making it one of the most versatile reverb pedals out there. The M300 is finely tuned to give you stunning reverb tones all in a compact, hard-wearing MXR stompbox that will definitely fit snugly on your pedalboard. The pedal has three main controls with a straightforward interface that makes the M300 instantly accessible to a wide range of different musicians.
A combination of analog and digital audio paths enhance the effects made available to you from the M300, all with individual detail and rich response. It also features a dry path which is 100% analog which offers up to a huge 20 volts of headroom which is made possible using MXR's outstanding Constant Headroom Technology (CHT) design.
The three main controls are Decay, Tone and Mix. Decay sets the length of each reverberation and Mix sets the signal level, but the Tone control is where you will find each of the six reverb styles; Plate, Spring, Epic, Mod, Room and Pad. This control also enables you to shape the effect EQ.
The Plate option gives you idyllic studio reverb that glistens throughout; Spring recreates a range of amplifier-style reverbs; Epic combines analog-tone modulated delays to enhance a guitar solo effort; Mod also incorporates modulation in the feedback path to give you a broad reverb sound; Room helps your guitar to kick out more volume and reverb as if it were being amplified in a small room; Pad combines octave-down and octave-up to almost provide an organ or synth-like reverb tones.
There is an option to plug in an external expression pedal thanks to the jack on the side so that you can switch between two different reverb types or setups. The MXR M300 has stereo input and output jacks as well as relay true bypass and delay trails modes and also a wet mode.
The Jim Dunlop MXR M300 Reverb pedal produces an incredibly diverse range of reverb styles and tones all from such a small, compact effects pedal. The pedal can be easily powered up using either a 9V battery or AC adapter.
