When Jeorge Tripps was a teenager he developed a keen interest in building guitar effects pedals after reading “Electronic Projects for Musicians” by Craig Anderton. Some years later in 1992, Jeorge launched Way Huge out of his love for playing guitar and designing superb effects to match. Unfortunately, Jeorge closed Way Huge for some years, though after much debate and speculation, he relaunched Way Huge with Jim Dunlop. Since the relaunch, some of those remarkable pedals have been treated to a makeover with fascinating new features. Welcome to the mark two Jim Dunlop Way Huge Blue Hippo Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Blue Hippo is capable of producing a wide and diverse range of lush, liquid-esque tones and is powered by the rare bucket brigade analog circuit. Initially, the original Blue Hippo pedal evolved out of the Boss CE-2 pedal, and the initial pedal attracted many big fans. If you missed out on that first release, don’t miss out again on the limited edition mark two version!
The most evident new feature of the Way Huge Blue Hippo mark II is the new Vibe switch. The inclusion of this allows you to add vibrato to your sound and thus thicken out your overall tone. The chorus that is projected in this pedal can go from subtle to completely underwater offering huge tonal depth and dexterity. By adjusting the speed and depth controls combined with the Vibe switch, you can completely shape your chorus to suit your playing needs.
There is a jack to fit a 9v power adapter which has a blue status LED light and unlike many other effects pedals, there is no need for tools to change your battery when it runs out as the Blue Hippo has an easy-to-open battery door at the bottom.
The Way Huge Blue Hippo Analog Chorus is a limited edition chorus pedal at an affordable price, making it well worth getting your hands on while you can!
