The Kawai CN34 Digital Piano sees important upgrades across the board with Responsive Hammer 2 (RH2) keyboard action, Ivory Touch keys, Let-Off simulation and a 3 sensor system giving you a more realistic, responsive piano-feel. Progressive Harmonic Imaging 88-key piano sampling technology with 256-note maximum polyphony and the inclusion of GM2 instrument sounds and drum kits gives you more accurate sound.

Additionally the Kawai CN34 Digital Piano is stuffed with learning functions such as the included Alfred piano books, Dual and Split modes, and the ability to record your performances.

Keyboard

Ensuring a piano playing experience that’s as close to an acoustic grand as possible the Kawai CN34 Digital Piano incorporates Kawai’s new Responsive Hammer II keyboard action. This upgraded technology gives the keys their realist movement, while the triple-sensor key detection system gives you enhanced responsiveness and accuracy; particularly useful when repeatedly playing the same note. The keyboard has also been weighted to mirror that of an acoustic, with the bass hammers being heavier, and the trebles being lighter.

The Kawai CN34 Digital Piano’s acoustic realism continues with Ivory Touch key surfaces & Grand Feel Pedal System. Subtle in its application the keys are textured & moisture absorbing to help playing control, while the pedals have been weighted to replicate the feel of acoustic damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals.

Sound

To get the perfect sound for the Kawai CN 34 Digital Piano, Kawai sampled their top-of-the-range concert grand piano, the EX. To get an accurate reproduction of the beautiful tone of this premier instrument Kawai painstakingly recorded each note separately. The results, however, are plain to hear with the rich harmonic character of the original source beautifully represented through the compact Kawai CN34 Digital Piano.

Not only was each key recorded separately but also at different volumes. This extra level of detail during the recording process and the utilisation of Kawai’s Progressive Harmonic Imaging sampling technology has ensured that pressing a key doesn’t just give you the same sound each time but the true character of the piano it’s representing.

The Kawai CN34 Digital Piano also includes an improved effects engine with high-quality chorus, tremolo, delay, and auto-pan effects, amplifier/speaker simulation and an updated selection of six reverb types, so your sound seems to be coming from anything from a small room to a large cathedral.

Additional Features

Although many pianists may stick to the EX grand sound the Kawai CN34 Digital Piano also includes a number of additional voices. Other extras include: Dual, and Four Hands keyboard modes (both with adjustable balance), a built-in metronome and integrated Alfred course books.

The Kawai CN34 Digital Piano makes for an excellent practice piano with its built-in song recorder. The piano includes a 2-track recorder, which lets you record right and left hand parts separately, or record using two different voices, and play them back as a single piece. Saved songs and settings can also be moved from one device to another via a USB memory storage device.

The USB connectivity also allows you to play multi-track SMF (Standard MIDI Format) files from the Kawai CN34 Digital Piano. MP3 and WAV files can also be played as backing tracks to play along to using the minus one function. The results can also be saved to USB.
