The KDP80 keyboard provides the touch response and full dynamic range required for superb performance with piano, harpsichord, organ, and other instrument sounds. With its special "Lesson" function featuring music from Burgmuller's 25 Progressive Pieces, and exercises from Czerny's 30 Etudes De Mecanisme, the KDP80 is perfect for students and piano teachers. In addition, the KDP80 digital piano is equipped with industry standard MIDI connectivity, allowing a number of other electronic instruments to be controlled and played simultaneously as well as the possibility to make digital recordings where you can alter the sounds at a later stage.

Touch

The Advanced Hammer Action IV-F keyboard has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of a traditional grand piano, with its remarkable springless design providing consistent upward and downward motion for a smooth, more natural, piano playing experience. Moreover, just as acoustic pianos utilise heavier bass hammers and lighter treble hammers, the AHA IV-F keyboard also employs diferent hammer weights, appropriately graded for each playing range. Such attention to detail allows greater stability during fortissimo passages, while preserving delicate pianissimo control, to satisfy the demands of even the most discerning pianist.

Tone

The authentic sound of KAWAI digital pianos begins with the world renowned KAWAI EX Concert grand piano. Placed inside an anechoic chamber, free of audio relections, the rich sound of this world class instrument is meticulously analysed and recorded by our Master Piano Artisans. The acoustic portrait of each note is later transformed into a precise three dimensional digital representation, employing KAWAI' s proprietary Harmonic Imaging technology. his unique process faithfully reproduces the broad dynamic range of the original grand piano, from subtle pianissimos to thunderous fortissimos.
