The Korg SP170S Digital Piano brings a whole host of new features to digital piano players, such as a Natural Weighted Hammer Action keyboard, ten new sounds, a new speaker system and dual headphone sockets in a piano that’s both comprehensive and easy to get to grips with.
Accurately weighted to mirror an acoustic piano the inclusion of Korgs Natural Weighted Hammer Action keyboard gives the Korg SP170S Digital Piano a lighter touch on the higher registers, becoming heavier as you work towards the lower registers. With three levels of Key Touch Control the keyboard can express every nuance of your playing with refined responsiveness.
The Korg SP170S Digital Piano provides ten meticulously captured sounds comprised of: two Pianos, two Electric Pianos, Harpsichord, Electric Clavichord, Vibraphone, Pipe Organ, Electric Organ and Strings. Each instrument uses velocity layers to best capture your unique style of play. To control your sound further the Korg SP170S features reverb and chorus effects to add extra spaciousness or warmth.
In-keeping with all these new features, that blur the lines between the acoustic and digital worlds, Korg have also upgraded the speaker system to provide a real spaciousness to your sound, thanks to two 10cm x 5cm speakers. Even the cabinetry of the Korg SP170S Digital Piano has had an overhaul to improve natural resonance and projection.
Featuring dual headphone jacks the Korg SP170S Digital Piano is now even better for learners. This feature allows two people to play the piano whilst not disturbing those around them, brilliant for dueting or for a teacher and student to share a lesson.
Alternatively the headphone sockets give the option of plugging in an external amplifier (if the built-in speakers aren’t loud enough for you) or plugging in a digital recorder.
Other improvements include the repositioning of the power switch and volume knob to the front panel of the piano (instead of previous position at the rear) and the addition of the Sound and Piano Play buttons. The Sound button lets you cycle through the ten keyboard sounds, while the Piano Play button brings you back to the Piano 1 sound at the touch of a button (rather than having to cycle through again).
