Korg Microstation Synthesizer

With something to offer everyone, from beginner to professional, the Korg Microstation Synthesiser is designed to please. The EDS-i synth engine offers supreme sound, along with a great set of effects and simple sequencing tools all wrapped up in seriously compact keyboard that you can take anywhere.

Composing

The Korg Microstation Synthesiser features a great-feeling 61-key Natural Touch mini keyboard with dual arpeggiators, and a 16-track sequencer, which itself features Loop Recording and visual Grid Sequencing.

Along with the awesome EDS-i synth engine, which can be found on the likes of the Korg M3 XPanded and M5, the Korg Microstation Synthesiser has an oscillation section that provides 49 MB of PCM sources with two filters per oscillator, with four filter types (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject). Modulation has also been set up perfectly with EG (Envelope Generator), LFO, key tracking generator, AMS (Alternate Modulation System), and an AMS mixer all at your disposal.

The Korg Microstation Synthesiser has you absolutely covered for effects as well, giving you the ability to use five Insert effects, two Master effects, and one Total effect. With the Effect Dynamic Modulation function you can control effects in the way that suits you.

Programs and Combinations

Not short on boasts the Korg Microstation Synthesiser is supplied with 480 Programs, 25 Drum kits, and 256 Combinations (each of which contain up to sixteen programs as layers, splits, or velocity switched elements). The Microstation makes what would be a daunting task of finding the sound you want less so, by categorising the Programs and Combinations into eight sound categories. If you want to quickly hear a selected sound in situ the Korg Microstation offers the audition switch, which will play a repeating phrase of the sound. If you can’t find what you want in this massive selection you can also edit the sounds and save them to the Microstation itself.

16-track MIDI Sequencer

The Korg Microstation Synthesizer’s built-in 16-track MIDI sequencer has enough scope for beginners to start making music straight away, while also providing advanced functions for professionals to sink their teeth into. Such features include: template songs, loop recording, a grid sequence function, dual polyphonic arpeggiators, and auto song setup.

Control

The Korg Microstation Synthesiser offers ease of use to both beginners and pros with its intuitive layout. Four realtime control knobs can be assigned with your most used parameters, while flicking the External switch allows these knobs to be used for controlling an external MIDI device. Alongside these a joystick gives you even more expressive control.

Included Software

Giving you full access to the creative possibilities of the Korg Microstation Synthesiser, it comes supplied with both microSTATION Editor and microSTATION Plug-In Editor software. With extra-detailed sound editing you can easily change up the sounds and save them directly to the synth.

• microSTATION Editor: This is a standalone piece of software that allows you to edit the Programs, Combinations, Drum kits, and Arpeggio patterns of the Korg Microstation.
• microSTATION Plug-In Editor: This allows the Korg Microstation to be used as a VST, AU or RTAS plug-in instrument for your DAW or other host application.
