Commonly tuners require you to be as close to the instrument as possible or have the instrument plugged into it to pick up the sound but this is a thing of the past. Working in a similar way to a wireless microphone the Korg Wi-Tune WR-01 Wireless Tuner comes in two parts; a transmitter which is clipped to your instrument to pick up sound and the tuner which acts as a wireless receiver and displays the tuning of the instrument.

With a range of up to 5 meters you'll now longer have to crane your neck to see the tuner's display and the unit itself has a small stand so you won't have to balance it awkwardly. With the Korg Wi-Tune WR-01 Wireless Tuner you don't have to worry about interference from any other active wireless system as the signal sent from the transmitter is coded to the tuner's receiver unit.

It'd be no good being able to tune at a distance if you couldn't see the screen so Korg have put a large, back-lit, liquid crystal display on the Korg Wi-Tune WR-01 Wireless Tuner which also helps out in dimly-lit venues. As well as showing the pitch variance and the note being played the display also shows how much battery life is left and the strength of the wireless connection.

Although the main draw of the Korg Wi-Tune WR-01 Wireless Tuner is its capability to tune wirelessly the unit also has a built-in microphone to tune without the transmitter. Alternatively you can tune in the pitch pipe-style as the tuner has reference tones that can be played through its internal speaker. Lastly the Wi-Tune's meter scale has markings for pure major and minor thirds relevant to a pre-determined pitch.
