The Laney Cub12R is an all valve amp with a 12 inch speaker, on-board reverb (with optional footswitch control), extension speaker outputs and an additional attenuated input jack for pushing the amp hard at lower volumes. The tube compliment includes 2x EL84 power amp tubes and 3x ECC83s in the pre. The triple preamp valve stage gives plenty of gain headroom, so you can push it, and push it, and push it some more! The second input offers a <1w (.75W) attenuated input that enables you to push the amp completely at a much lower volume to get what Laney describe as the 'DARK ART' tone.
The CUB12R's features gain, treble, middle, bass, volume and tone knows plus external speaker outputs on the rear panel (8 & 16 Ohm) and an effects loop so you can sound bigger, and take full control of your tone. The buil-in reverb helps give a more open sound, which can make a big difference to solos in particular, add a footswitch to the amp and you can kick it off when you want to jump into tighter sections and you want a crisper sound. This amp is fantastic for gigging as well as practice, giving you a professional, vintage tube tone at all times, and it is small enough to transport easily.
