The Laney VC15-110 is a class A/B 15 watt all valve combo amp with a distinctly bluesy classic tone, and vintage tube warmth. The preamp gain is delivered by a triple compliment of 12AX7 tubes and outputed with a dual compliment of EL84 power amp tubes. The tone controls help shape your sound and there is a bright switch to kick in a bit of extra top end, and there are two inputs (bright and normal) so you can choose which sort of a sound you are going for on the way in. There is also reverb built in, to smooth your tone for a more open sound. The speaker is a custom Jensen 10 inch driver, which is a great compliment to this high-class amp. If you want a bigger sound, the VC15-110 has an output jack and Laney offer matching cabs for this amp: GS112VE (1x 12 inch) and the GS210VE (2x 10 inch). This is one of only a handful of Laney's amps that employ what they know as 'The Dark Art', and this brooding little amp is certainly of Laney's expertise in the low-wattage tube amp world. If you are looking for a high-class, lower wattage tube amp with a professional sound, this little super warm, bluesy combo will be a treat for your ears.

The best I've tried out

I've tried almost every amp going including the recent Excelsior.
This is different from most as it's not overpowering for bedroom practise - but powerful enough to knock heads off and melt faces at gigs (can get even louder by using the extra speaker connection), it's comparatively light weight and it's the most versatile amp so far from Blues, Classic Rock n Roll and soothing Jazz to Metal, Rock and Punk.
The controls are standard, so it's easy to quickly change from one sound to another.
I have 1/350 worldwide limited edition vintage white VC15's - it looks way better.
The preamp tubes that come with reach more of a lower end tone, so I find myself using the Bright feature on the amp most of the time. Tried it with Electro Harmonix ones - they give out a bigger kick, almost too overpowering, and the high end of the tone is too much for the bright setting.
Overall - it's the perfect amp for beginners and experts alike. Would be good if the 2 way foot switch came with and if they made a white leather cover for it.
