Professional-Level Quality

The Mackie SRM450 V3 2-Way Active Bi-Amplified Loudspeaker is packed with a 12-inch high-power low-frequency woofer, which is paired with a 1.75-inch titanium diaphragm high-output precision compression driver. Each driver has been designed by Mackie's expert engineers to perform exceptionally across the frequency range, encasing each one in a lightweight high-strength cabinet for protection. The drivers have an operating range across the horizontal axis of 90 degrees, and 45 degrees across the vertical axis, which means that whether your listeners are stood close to the speakers, or off to the side, everyone gets the same aural pleasure.

Bi-Amped Power

Mackie's design team has equipped the SRM450 with a pair of amplifiers that power each transducer exclusively, contributing to the SRM450's low power usage and maximum efficiency. They are Mackie's FR series amplifiers, which are designed to cope with extreme signal output to handle the most demanding of sound sources. Each amplifier has an individual compressor circuit, which acts when the input signal is large to cause clipping, distortion, and excessive voice coil heat, at which point the signal is attenuated to a manageable level.

Linkwitz-Riley Crossover Design

Mackie's team of engineers have integrated a 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover design, which is praised for its absolutely flat frequency response without the characteristic ripple near the crossover point. The sharp 24 dB per octave roll-off of the filters ensures that the transducers aren’t reproducing frequencies outside of their capabilities. Power is optimised for greater accuracy at the crossover frequency.

Robust Cabinet

The SRM450 cabinet is designed to provide strength and endurance, protecting the internal circuitry and components in any live audio environment. The design of the cabinet means that it can be mounted on a speaker pole, but it tilts on its side to make a superb floor monitor too. Not only that, but the cleverly shaped asymmetrical chassis causes high-frequency signals to be reflected at different angles into internal damping materials, which prevents the signals from interference with the woofer.
