The Mapex Saturn SW529XBNK is one of the greatest value professional kits available. The 22 inch bass drum with LA fusion drum sizes make this model a real class-act. The thin maple shells with two walnut plies make an incredibly sweet, resonant sound with plenty of bottom end and plenty of punch in the bigger drums. The finishes are built up with 8 hand-rubbed layers of lacquer, designed to get the best results from stage lighting.
With Mapex Saturn kits resonance is everything. The single-point-contact lugs minimise shell contact, the off-the-shell isolated tom mounts minimise cross-drum interaction and keep contact to a minimum, and the bass drum is un-drilled so this kit has masses of tone and is the perfect kit for eventually upgrading to a rack setup.
The Mapex SW529XBNK is an 'LA Fusion' type kit with huge sounding 22x20 bass drum, 10x7 and 12x8 toms which have a complimentary tone that you can customise to your hearts content and a 16x13 floor tom that is a little shallower than the standard fare for a more focused sound, with spring loaded legs for isolation and stability. This kit also comes with tom mounting hardware in the form of single tom arms with multi-clamps.

I have owned a Mapex "Rock Plus" kit for two years now. It features a 24" x 20" bass drum, 12" x 9" mounted tom, 16" x 16" floor tom, and a 14" x 7" snare and is finished in Galaxy burst.
The kit sounds fantastic acoustically but mic’d-up in a live situation it sounds awesome. The depth of tone this kit gives is due to its slightly oversized spec compared to regular kits, which is perfect for any hard-hitting rock/metal drummer. The build quality is very impressive. The shells are constructed of 4 exterior plies of American maple and 2 inner plies of warm walnut, which produces a very warm and full sound. If you've not seen or played a Mapex Saturn kit then check them out ASAP they're amazing.
