The MFL871 has a Japanese body and foot manufactured from top quality cupronickel with drawn tone holes and then silverplated to a high standard giving it a superb highly polished finish. The lip plate is cut specifically to produce a rich round sound but it could still be played quite easily by a beginner. The keywork is moulded, cast and reinforced only using top quality metals and solder making it robust so it will not easily bend. The specific design of the keywork on the MFL871 incorporates French pointed key arms which are normally only found on much more expensive flutes.
The MFL871 has Italian Pisoni pads which ensure a good seal on the toneholes and ensure no leakage. The smooth key action is very well balanced enabling any player to play complex passages with relative ease. The case is a robust wooden case for full protection accompanied by a padded case cover.
