Rock School - Guitar Lessons For Ages 8+

Our Reading Guitar Lessons are taught by Matt Gaydon and are based around the Rockschool series of exams and syllabus. You can find out more about the Rockschool methods here. These guitar lessons also allow the guitar teacher to add their own experience and teaching methods while still keeping a disciplined framework and teaching process.

The teachers will use modern songs as a basis for their music lessons which encourages learning. There's nothing better than learning to play the music you actually hear on the radio! They'll also cover some of the classic songs and learn the techniques used by those original guitarists to play them. Also as part of the guitar lessons they will learn different skills on the guitar including pinched harmonics, strumming techniques and guitar solos. Students will also learn guitar scales and different guitar tunings.

Since the courses are based around the Rockschool syllabus each guitar class works towards the Rockschool exams which are held approximately once a year. This gives the guitar class something to work towards and provides real exam results that are recognised by music departments in schools all across the UK.

Guitar lessons in Reading are £10.00 for an hour and this is payable in monthly blocks on the first lesson of each block.
