M-Audio Firewire Audiophile Description
Firewire Audiophile builds on the legacy of the Audiophile line while demonstrating MAudio's commitment to developing next-generation FireWire products. Geared to home recordists and computer-based DJ's, it is a versatile 4 x 6 audio interface with built-in MIDI I/O. Flexible software-controlled mixing allows the user to assign any stream to the stereo headphones, ideal for dedicated headphone mixes and DJ pre-listening. The Firewire Audiophile offers 2-in, 4-out analogue I/O, as well as 2 x 2 digital I/O and 1 X 1 MIDI I/O, making it ideal for the home project studio as well as a performance audio interface. Instant A/B auditioning/pre-listening of source streams plus a loud headphone out for those noisy clubs make the Audiophile a perfect fit for the laptop DJ. Flexible mixing includes aux sends on all channels and aux output assign, providing for dedicated headphone mixes and sends to external effects. The FireWire Audiophile also has AC-3 and DTS pass through for surround sound playback. ASIO, WDM, GSIF and Core Audio support.
