Questions about the Steinberg Cubase SE3
Date Created: 7 December 2007
Question

Have you got a solution?
I have just purchased Cubase SE3 and on reading the specifications I notice that it requires a Windows MME compatible audio hardware (ASIO compatible audio hardware recommended.) What does that mean and how do I know if I have got it? Also please the box says I require a USB Component Port. What does that mean please? Is that just a USB Port?

Solutions:

Hi, yes it is compatible. The thing to look at is the soundcard on the PC. In your case the Audigy. This needs to have Windows drivers to work with Cubase SE. If there are ASIO drivers available for the card - check the Manufacturers website for that info then it will work even better. The Audigy 2 has ASIO support so will work well.

Any computer over 3 years old will have a USB port that is compatible with the software

can this software be used on a windows vista platform ??

Solutions:

No, Cubase SE3 does not work with Windows Vista. Cubase Studio 4 and Cubase 4 are compatible with Vista though.
