The guitar that Jimi Hendrix began his guitar burning trademark act is up for auction in London at an auction for rock memorabilia. This was the first guitar that Jimi Hendrix burnt on stage.
Experts have predicted that the Fender Stratocaster guitar could reach up to £500,000 in the auction.
This is the star in the auction, which as well as this Jimi Hendrix guitar, also includes the contract that the Beatles first signed in 1962 – their first contract.
Going back to the Jimi Hendrix guitar, this was first played and also burnt at a Finsbury Park gig in London in March 1967. This was the 1st time that Jimi Hendrix set fire to his guitar – but not the last.
Later on Jimi Hendrix became famous for this guitar burning gimmick.
It turns out that the guitar has languished in a garage in Hove and was only recovered from their last year. It still has the burn marks from the Hendrix gig.
You can also bid for what has been claimed to be Elvis Presley’s last remaining fingerprints which are on a gun permit.
All these items are being auctioned at the Fame Bureau’s It’s More Than Rock and Roll memorabilia auctions.
