Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System

When Numark created the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System they really meant it when they said ‘Universal’. The traditional two-decks-and-a-mixer layout is in place but just about any conceivable sound source your likely to use is catered for, with support for: CDs, MP3 CDs, USB flash drives, iPod, a computer and other analog players.

Decks and Audio Sources

The Numark Mixdeck DJ System’s dual decks each feature a large, illuminated, touch-sensitive platter, with cue controls. Each deck also has a slot-loading disc drive for CDs/MP3 CDs and individual USB connections for flash drives.

Beyond mere CD players, the decks on the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System can be hooked up to your Mac or PC, via the included USB cable, to act as a controller for your favourite DJ software and accessing your computers music library. Mapping to your software is easy, though the Numark Mixdeck is pre-mapped for Traktor Pro 2 and Virtual DJ Pro, and even comes complete with a copy of Serato DJ Intro.

Bringing your iPod into the mix is also easy with the integrated dock and dedicated iPod fader, physical transport and menu controls, and click knob allowing you to control your iPod without taking your hands from the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System. You can even record your set to your iPod!

On top of the audio input possibilities the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System also gives you a great selection of beat-synced DSP effects to add even more creative flare to your performance with chop, echo, filter, flanger, pan, and phaser.

Mixer Section

The mixer section of the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System sets out its stall well; with gain and three-band EQ/rotary kills for each channel and controls for incoming audio from a plethora of external sources. You can even adjust the crossfader’s slope and reverse settings to best match the way you perform.

A 1/4-inch mic input with its own controls, allows you to interact with the audience. Cueing is easy with a separate section with dual 1/8 and 1/4-inch headphone outputs, dedicated cue gain, and mini-crossfader control. Master output levels are displayed on a pair of dual-colour stereo LED meters.

Along with being able to work with most audio inputs the Numark Mixdeck Universal DJ System also caters for most outputting possibilities. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA stereo Main outputs will hook you up to most venue’s PA systems, while Booth and Record outs lets you perform and record at the same time with no hassle. Direct stereo outputs on each deck allow use with time coded control interfaces.
