The GX range sets a new standard in loudspeaker performance, portability and cost. The Studiomaster GX10 is a full range passive speaker cabinet with a 10" speaker. The strong trapezoidal shaped wooden cabinet is black-carpet covered to give a stylish, durable finish while keeping weight to a minimum. The GX10 contains a 35mm speaker pole socket for stand mounting and tough slotted handles, making transporting easy.
The the GX10 has a pair of industry standard 4 pole speaker connectors for reliable operation and the flexibility to connect to additional cabinets.
When used in conjunction with GX active speaker cabinets, you can power the GX10 without using a power amp, letting you scale your PA to the venue size or add additional speakers as and when funds are available, increasing overall power.
So, for example, your PA could start with just a pair of GX10A active cabinets. When you start playing bigger gigs buy a pair of GX10 passive cabinets and power them from the GX10As.

If you need a reliable speaker for house parties, to DJ, even karaoke at your local pub it's a good piece of kit hands down. Trust me, it's loud enough! I've used this type of speaker for an electric drum kit and it handles the bass well enough. Another good feature is that it isn't so big that you have nowhere to store it. You could put it on the bottom of your wardrobe if need be.
Handles vocals well enough as I said for karaoke. Just make sure your mum’s friends who've had to much wine don't get a hold of the microphone! All in all a good product for a good price but if you are going to take up DJing as a profession, I may look into something like the Studiomaster VPX-12 or 15! Also sold by Dawsons. =)
