The Pigtronix PXEMT Tremvelope Envelope Modulated Tremolo Effects Pedal delivers warm analogue tremolo effects with incredible versatility. Combining optical tremolo and panning, with a unique "envelope" mode that enables the tremolo to respond to the dynamics of your playing style.
There are a range of knobs, switches, and footswitches, which may appear daunting to begin with but you'll soon be flying. There are three control knobs: Sensitivity, Depth, and Speed. There are four switches: Acceleration, Depth, Speed, and Waveform. Finally, there are two footswitches that allow you to activate/deactivate the Envelope, and Engage to turn the entire Tremvelope On and Off.
Sensitivity allows you to determine the amount of signal that is needed to trigger the envelope, and as previously noted, responds to your playing dynamics accordingly. It has a vast range of adjustment for you to play with, and plays well with everything from passive single-coil pickups to active electric bass humbuckers - even line level recording equipment.
Depth controls the level of Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) modulation, giving you everything from a slight wiggle to a pulsating throb. Speed controls the rate of the LFO.
With regard to the toggle switches, Acceleration determines how quickly the tremolo will change depth and speed based on your playing. Depth has three possible options (MINUS / OFF / PLUS), and enables you to control how the depth of the tremolo changes when the desired mode is selected. Speed also has three modes (MINUS / OFF / PLUS), which control how the tremolo speed will change when the envelope mode is selected. Waveform selects either a Sine wave or Ramp wave shapes for the LFO.
The Tremvolope is host to a range of connections that covers your instrument input and power supply - naturally -, and some other nifty choices. The Out jack enables you to send the output directly to your amp, mixer or DI box. The Trigger audio input allows you to connect directly to the envelope, bypassing the primary input for immediate control over envelope modulation. The Speed Pedal input accommodates TRS expression pedals to allow real-time control over the rate of LFO. The Vol/Pan jack is another expression pedal input for control volume in mono mode, or panning in stereo mode.
The Tremvelope can slot into your pedal board as a simple yet gorgeous sounding tremolo effect, an intricate envelope modulated tremolo unit, or a more sophisticated stereo panning effects unit that will take your tone to new heights. The choice is yours, but as you grow and your needs and demands change, the Tremvelope has the ability to grow with you.
You can rest assured that the high-fidelity analogue optical circuit is of the highest possible quality, and from bedroom practise to hitting a festival in front of adoring crowds, Pigtronix built their pedals to take anything and everything you can throw at them. Each pedal comes with an 18VDC power supply, so as soon as it arrives, you’re good to go.
