If you don’t know much about Reason, you’ve been missing out. Propellerhead Reason 6 basically takes your ideas and turns them into music with host of tools and virtual instruments, large sound bank and intuitive user-interface. Ok, so it doesn’t do all the work for you but this beautiful piece of software puts everything you could need at your fingertips to create amazing music without leaving your chair.
Propellerhead Reason 6 isn’t just a tool; it’s a recording studio in a box. Everything you would expect to find in a professional set up, you will find in Reason including reverb to compressors, voiceovers, synchs, distortion units, and parametric EQs. Everything in software works just like the real thing and, more importantly, sounds like the real thing.
Compatibility – Hardware and Software
Propellerhead Reason 6 comes with hardware support via Remote. This technology allows you to use any major controller or keyboard with the software without having to install or configure anything. Just plug it in and away you go.
Propellerhead Reason 6 works with other software such as ProTools, Logic, Cubase, Live and Sonar thanks to, the now industry standard, Rewire. With this you can access your virtual rack in Reason alongside your other programmes.
What’s New?
For those of you who already have Reason in your life Propellerhead Reason 6 brings you audio tracks in the sequencer, extended time stretch and audio transpose. All the things that have been missing that will now allow you to use Reason for your entire production.
Other additions to Propellerhead Reason 6 that are worth mentioning include Neptune pitch corrector, Line 6 modelled amplifiers, and the ID-8 writer's toolbox of instruments. There is also a larger sound bank that has been expanded with thousands of new patches and loops, three new effects (Pulveriser, The Echo and Alligator) and support for 64-Bit systems.

Reason 6 has everything you need and more

Many years ago I had my home studio built with most of my gear being hardware. At that time I was using my computer for sequencing, and the odd VSTi. I had tried Reason in its early version, and while it seemed nice for a hobby, it wasn't good enough to warrant selling my hardware for.
Some years later someone mentioned to me about Propellerhead Reason with Record, I was so impressed it wasn't long before I got it. When Reason 6 came it felt that they finally had one solid single piece of software that not only can record my audio, but offers high-end sound sets. You have everything that a full recording studio would need all in rack mounts just as you would buy them, but now in version 6.5 we have Rack extensions which lets outside developers produce their own racks like VST instruments, but works 100% solid, no complicated licences, installs with ease, and works as it should. Just one of my current favourites is the RE from Korg, the Polysix, sounds spot on to the VST version.
All in all you can record a professional piece of music, mastered and production ready right out of Reason 6.
