The Mixer, or Mixing Desk, is very often the central hub of a recording set-up. The mixer (also known as a mixing desk) allows many devices, such as instruments or microphones, to be connected to it, then the individual level, EQ and other parameters of each device to be altered individually, before sending the resulting ‘mix’ of signals to an output, or multiple outputs.
The applications of the humble mixer are vast, from simple combination of a few audio signals, to being the central component of a recording studio. From ultra-compact 4-input mixers, to 24-input desks, designed for more complex audio duties, the brands stocked online include Mackie, Peavey, Yamaha, Alesis, Alto and many more.
