Designed primarily for professional video applications, the Rode NTG-2 Condenser Shotgun Microphone is lightweight and offers a multitude of power options so you can use it to capture transparent audio anywhere.
As expected, a full frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz is captured but there is also an 80Hz high pass filter built in to the Rode NTG-2 Condenser Shotgun Microphone - ideal for situations where low frequency noise, such as traffic or air conditioner systems, is excessive.
Power sources won’t be a problem with the Rode NTG-2 Condenser Shotgun Microphone, as you can either power it from AA batteries or Phantom Power (either 48V or 24V). This is provided on some professional cameras and other equipment such as mixing desks.
A Rode WSVM Windshield, which decreases soft wind noise and plosive sounds, is included with the Rode NTG-2 Condenser Shotgun Microphone. Rode recommended the optional “DeadCat” windshield for outdoor use, as it’s much more effective at blocking out excessive wind noise.
