At just 3/4 size of a full-sized guitar, the Redwood C53 3/4 Classical Guitar is the ideal choice for children aged between 8 and 11*, who are keen to start playing guitar, or who have out-grown their a half-size instrument, or even for adults who find full-sized guitars too cumbersome.
Popular amongst beginners, classical guitars are generally chosen because they have nylon strings, which are easier on the fingers when you’re starting out. They are easier to hold down and practice with for longer periods, compared with steel-strung guitars, which requires the player to build up calluses on their fingers over time, to play effectively.
As with other classical guitars with good build quality, this instrument delivers a lovely warm tone and good projection. It also looks good, with a light-coloured top, accented by a black binding and complimented by darker shades at the back and sides. You also have an attractive rosette at the soundhole to finish off the design nicely.
With the top, back, and sides built from basswood, the Redwood C53 Classical Guitar provides a good blend of resonance with a well-balanced tone. Basswood is a typically lightweight material, and offers a comfortable playing experience. The neck is carved from nato wood, and the fingerboard uses solid maple, in turn, these both offer great stability, comfort, and accuracy.
* These are approximate ages and are dependent on arm reach, which differs from person to person; care should be taken when selecting the size of guitar for the player.
