Features

  • Mahogany and zebra body with a natural finish
  • 34 inch scale length
  • Maple and nato fingerboard with dot inlays
  • 2 volume and 2 tone control

The Redwood RB2400 electric bass guitar with natural finish has a neck-thru construction that delivers substantial levels of power and sustain, with a versatile tonal palette.

Exotic Tonewood Combination

The RB2400 body design is a combination of delicate grace and raw power. The deeply set double-cutaways enable easy access to the entire fingerboard, whilst the no-nonsense flat body design is a lean, mean touring machine. The medium-sized body easily accommodates players of all ages. Built using a combination of mahogany and zebra, the RB2400 balances the mid to low-end power of the mahogany and the cutting high-end tonality of the zebra beautifully.

Fast-playing Neck Design

The slender neck has been shaped to create a fast-playing feel, and although it is set along a generous 34" scale length, it feels both accommodating and easy to navigate. The maple/nato fingerboard ensures each note rings out clearly, reacting to every pick, pluck, or slap with absolute precision. The fingerboard bears oval position inlays that guide you along in style across each one of the 24 frets. The fingerboard has been shaped with a 12" radius, which lends itself perfectly to the execution of seamless string bends.

Versatile Pickup Arrangement

In order to articulate the staggeringly complex tones produced by the body, neck and fingerboard tonewoods, the Redwood RB2400 has been fitted with a pair of active ceramic humbuckers. The pickups ensure the tonal output is consistently smooth, translating the energy from the body and the snappy clarity of the neck with ease. Each pickup has individual volume and tone controls pots, allowing you to sculpt and shape the output as you like. Whether you're looking for a bass to get slap-happy on, create thunderous rock basslines, tightly clipped funk snap, or swelling blues' jams, these pickups can do it all, and do it in style.

Gig-ready Hardware

The fixed bridge secures each strings, so that no matter how aggressively you attack them, you need never worry about your tuning becoming unstable or your playing feel disrupted. The tuning machines work hard to maintain your tuning rigorously, throughout each and every performance.

The Redwood RB2400 offers a high-performance instrument at an entry-level price. Poring every detail, the design team at Redwood have ensured that every piece of hardware is perfectly suited to carry out the task it's undertaking. The complex character of the tonewoods create a heady tonal melting pot that is translated exquisitely by the active ceramic pickups. Whether you're new to the bass, or are a more experienced player who is looking for an exotic model - without the exotic price tag - then this is the model for you.

Although it is cheap this bass is not worth buying unless it’s your first one and you're not sure if you're going to carry on with it. If you have another bass that's intact I would recommend keeping your distance.

On a positive note the bass does have a through neck and loads of frets.I also found that the slap tone was rather good after a bit of fiddling.

On the one that I bought the neck buzzed on the lower frets from day one, and the wiring inside was faulty. I had to buy a new input on the bass and even since getting that done the battery must be short-circuiting because if I leave it in it runs out in no time at all. Basically, the electrics inside the bass aren't the best quality, even for the price.

My advice is get an Epiphone Thunderbird instead if you can afford an extra £100.. I've had one for 2 years and it's been amazing.
