The Rode NT5 is a small but mighty cardioid-condenser microphone that can be used in single or stereo set-ups on live drums, cymbals, in the studio and on a multitude of instruments. This pack comes as a matched pair for stereo recording.
The Rode NT5 has an incredibly low-noise, sensitive ½" Gold sputtered capsule mounted on an external rubber shock mount. With the NT5's 20 Hz- 20kHz frequency response and active J-FET impedance converter you will be sure to pick up every deep bass tone from the lowest note on a piano to the highest violin note.
The Rode NT5's cardioid capsule can easily be removed and changed for the Rode NT45-O (Omni directional Capsule) sold seperatly.
Thanks to the Rode NT5's compact size being just under 12cm in length it is great on stage, as it is non-obtrusive and will squeeze in the smallest of gaps allowing you to get up close and personal to the instrument you are recording.
Why buy a matched pair of NT5's rather than 2 single NT5? Matched pairs will give a more accurate stereo image of the recording as they matched in frequency response and sensitivity, all microphones are designed to be the same but there are always subtle differences. The road factory test a range the NT5s and find the best two matches possible.
The NT5 Matched pair includes a plastic moulded carrying case, 2x Mic clips for all types of microphone stands and 2x windshields for location recording.
