Sometimes referred to as a pencil mic due to it's small, thin style, the Rode NT55 Microphone is a small-diaphragm, true-condenser cardioid microphone offering some of the best quality available. Small it may be, but don't let that fool you, the Rode NT55 has an incredible capture range that works perfectly with acoustic instruments, cymbals and more. Similar to the ever-popular NT5, though this model adds a three-position pad (0, -10dB, -20dB) and a three-stage high pass filter (Off, 75Hz, 150Hz). Making the NT55 more versatile is the inclusion of a NT45-O omni-directional capsule in the box.
The Rode NT55 Mic is an externally polarized mic that employs a 1/2" capsule, an active J-FET impedance converter with bipolar output buffer. This makes it the perfect mic for recording acoustic instruments, drum overheads, cymbals and live performances, though with its tight cardioid pickup pattern it is also ideal for indoor dialogue recording which can be great for podcasters, or overlaying speech over your recording tracks.
With its durable satin nickel finish, the Rode NT55 Microphone is capable of withstanding years of use, something that is backed up by the company’s industry leading 10-year warranty (upon registration) that will have you covered by any faults.
