Details

The Squier Affinity Telecaster is one of the most popular electric guitar models in the world, and has been for years. The Squier brand has long been the home to affordable versions of classic Fender models. For beginners, who aspire to play a Fender, these guitars are a great first instrument. The Affinity range is its most popular due to the near-perfect balance of playability, tone and price.

The Fender Telecaster was the first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar. It was such a perfect design that it has remained pretty much unchanged since its launch in 1950.

The Affinity Tele shares many of the key features of its Fender counterparts. The body is the same, iconic shape, with a single cutaway, fashioned from solid alder. The neck is a bolt-on design made from maple, with a 25.5” scale length, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and carved to a comfortable ‘C’ profile. These are all classic Tele features.

The pickups fitted are two single-coil models. The narrowly wound coils of these pickups play a massive part in the unique sound of the Tele, giving a very bright, cutting sound with distinctive ‘twang’. Heard on countless records, from classic country, to blues, to indie, to pop… you name it, there’s a strong possibility a Tele has featured on it. The pickups are wired with a 3-way selector switch, and a master tone and master volume switch.

A six-saddle bridge is fitted, which provides plenty of sustain and stability, whilst being easy to adjust. The guitar is finished in classic, Arctic White polyurethane, with a matching white scratchplate.

The Squier Affinity Telecaster delivers a level of authentic tone, great playability and superb build quality that staggering at its price. The fact that it retains the same good looks as its better-known sibling is the icing on the cake.

Customer Reviews
Great stuff
Posted on 07/10/2014 by Crash0090 Bought myself one of these as a 'messing about' guitar and play it more than I do my Gibson SG! such an easy guitar to play. Had a problem with the electrics not long after buying, but Dawsons were able to sort this in a few days as it was still under warranty. If you're looking for a guitar to hone your skills on, look no further! brilliant value for money and a great guitar!
Great
Posted on 26/03/2014 by andy pandy I bought this for my son because he wanted an electric guitar after getting bored of his acoustic guitar, it is great quality and we are both pleased with it! I would also recommend the Roland micro cube amp.
