The new Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass 60s includes the "deluxe" features that were introduced in the 1960s models, with a sweet offset waist, a narrow fast-action neck, two custom single-coil pickups, individual volume controls, and a master tone control for overall sound shaping.
Slick Jazz Bass Body Design
The Classic Vibe features the highly desirable Jazz Bass body shape, a sleek and sophisticated design that has been in demand for decades. Thanks to the slim profile, sleek curves, and deep cutaways, this beauty is very comfortable to play. Basswood has been used as the body tonewood, which is light in weight - adding to its delightful playability. Basswood may be light but it is tonally dense, giving this model a robust midrange clout packing plenty of power.
Smooth Maple Neck
The slender maple neck has been shaped to the modern "C"-profile, making it very comfortable in the hand. Married to the neck is a rosewood fingerboard, home to 20 vintage-style frets that are a dream to navigate. The maple/rosewood combination guarantees a responsive attack, so whatever technique you employ from slapping to picking, you can rest assured that it will be accurately represented.
Highly Versatile Pickups
In keeping with the stylish 60s sign, the Classic Vibe is fitted with custom jazz bass single-coil pickups in the middle and bridge positions. The control layout may be simple in deign, with only volume controls for each pickups, and a master tone knob to shape and lift your signal. However, the versatility and range of tonal options at your disposal is wide-ranging. Emphasis may be weighted towards delivering a hefty mid-level clout, but attenuation of each control produces impressive results. From rumbling low-end throttle to sparkling highs, this Jazz Bass can do it all.
In order to keep up with whatever pace you play at, Squier have installed hardware that will keep you instrument playing to a high standard throughout. A 'HiMass' bridge with four brass barrel saddles anchors each string to the body, making it easier to intonate whilst ensuring that you can play as enthusiastically as you wish with the confidence that you strings are fixed securely. Vintage-style tuning machines uphold tuning integrity so that once you're in tune, it stays that way.
The Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass 60s provides the cool and sophisticated tonal versatility of the 1960s model, whilst featuring awesome appointments to make it the perfect combination of vintage and modern.
