Steinberg has raised the bar with this update and its gob-smacking how much you get in this update.
You get a new amp modeller that is now up to the standard of current leader guitar rig. It is not only amazing on guitars but adds depth to drums.
It also adds a new feature that I’ve not seen before - you can now automate the global tempo and all audio and midi parts will seamlessly follow the tempo without any glitches. This means you could start a track at 80bpm and end at 140bpm and everything will smoothly change, you just need to set your tempo markers on the arranger page.
I’ve used Cubase for about 15 years and with each update they add things that once you try, you can’t live without.
One thing I do recommend once you buy this, if you love all things analogue, is to buy the Cubase 6.5 update from the Steinberg website. This will give you two additional DJ filters and two new synths (Retrologue/Padshop) it is only available to Cubase 6 users as a cheap update, when I bought mine it was about £45.
