Reinventing musical notation software, Steinberg's Dorico Advanced Music Notation System combines intelligence, intuitive workflows, impeccable output and world-class audio all bundled together in a single software package. Whatever your preferred method, play or score your music and listen to it come to life with Steinberg's award-winning audio engine.
With a software package that can do so much, you may be forgiven for thinking that things can get complicated, but Dorico was designed by musicians that wanted powerful software that gets out of your way so that you can focus on the music. Dorico’s single-window design puts all of the application’s power within easy reach. 5 categories - Setup, Write, Engrave, Play and Print all sit on the toolbar so that you can float between modes with ease.
Dorico was designed to make full usage of multi-core computers so that you get the best looking and best sounding musical compositions. Because of this, Dorico is just as fast inputting into the longest of scores for huge symphony orchestra as it is writing for a solo instrument — and it doesn’t get slower as your project gets larger. This results in a much more organic music making experience that will look just as crisp as it sounds on any high density display.
Works the way you want
All musicians are unique and prefer different writing methods, Dorico has you all covered here. Use your keyboard or mouse to input notes, and learn ergonomic and mnemonic key commands to allow you to fly through note input faster than ever before. Dorico will also dynamically alter music as you edit so that the notes around it will react to any changes you make later. For example, simply engage Insert mode, then either insert new notes or edit existing ones, and see the rest of the music instantly updated, with all the rhythms automatically spelled out according to the rules of music theory.
Once you have created your masterpiece and assigned your sounds from the library of over 1500 instruments or from any of your own VST instruments, you can listen back to it with Steinberg's award winning, crystal-clear 32-bit floating-point sound engine.
Not only will your compositions sound incredible, but will also look just as good thanks to the ability to customise the score to your exact requirements. Add images, change the layouts, export to PDF, SVG, PNG and TIFF and print so that you have the perfect scores for your musicians. You can also import and export your scores as MusicXML and MIDI files from Cubase, other scoring programs and other DAWs.
With the Steinberg Dorico Advanced Music Notation System, your musical ideas can become rich, full of life, sound and look amazing and the possibilities are endless. Dorico has set a new standard in musical notation software, experience the magic for yourself.
