Description

Details

The Strymon Orbit dBucket Flanger Guitar Effects Pedal is an incredible pedal that combines the warm characteristics of an analogue pedal, with sophisticated digital signal processing technology. The team at Strymon have perfected their art, and the result is a pedal that is suited to a touring professional, yet affordable enough for all guitarists to take advantage of.

dBucket Algorithm

Strymon recreate the sophisticated nuances produced by analogue pedals, by employing the high-performance SHARC DSP to carry out the work of their complex dBucket algorithm. The hardware and software integrate harmoniously to recreate the signal path in its entirety, using sophisticated mathematics to interpret the interplay of components in analogue circuitry. The result is a smooth and faithful response that is oozing with old-school charm, with all the characteristics you'd expect such as pitch effects, delay-time artifacts, and loss of fidelity.

Feedback Types and LFO Modes

There are three feedback types to choose from - positive, negative and positive/negative feedback. The positive setting maintains the wet and dry signals 'in phase', producing a jet-like swirl when higher REGEN settings are used. The negative feedback creates ‘hollow, swishy, watery’ character. The +/- Feedback settings uses a unique frequency dependent feedback that combines elements of both Positive and Negative that allows you to create your own unique tones.

The LFO switch allows you to choose between logarithmic, linear and through zero LFOs. The LOG setting produces an even-sounding frequency sweep, creating a swirling output. LIN setting produces a frequency sweep that speeds up as it goes higher, and slows down as you go lower, enabling you to affect the output to suit your tonal style. With the LOG and LIN settings respectively, you can cover two classic flanger sounds with the flip of a switch. Thru 0 advances the wet signal ahead of the dry signal for dramatic flanging effects unavailable in most flangers.

Connectivity

Along the rear panel of the unit you'll find the 9V DC input, as well as the high impedance mono input, Expression pedal input for real-time control over any knob parameter, as well as stereo pair (right and left) outputs.

Exceptional Audio Quality

The Orbit boasts super low noise, A/D and D/A converters with an 110dB typical signal to noise ratio. The analog dry path results in zero latency, as it is never converted to digital, ensuring that your bypassed signal remains in pristine condition. With 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, you can guarantee that the intricate nuances of your guitar tone is preserved dutifully. The circuitry is housed in a super-strong and lightweight anodized aluminium chassis, which is lovingly crafted in the USA.

The Strymon Orbit dBucket Flanger Guitar Effects Pedal is an exceptional unit that offers the rich character-filled tones of classic analogue pedals, in a digital form that enables it to be incredibly versatile, tonally sublime, and utterly reliable.
