Taking a good selection of reverb types from the original Hall of Fame Reverb, the TC Electronic Arena Reverb Effect Pedal adds to it with four more exclusive, custom-made reverb sounds. With traditional and new sounds combined the pedal offers up ‘verbs that focus on the subtle nuances of various environment types, to create a stompbox with one of the best selections of organic-sounding reverbs available.
If that wasn’t enough, it also features TC Electronic’s awesome TonePrint technology, which opens the pedal up to a massive library of signature tones and editing capabilities.
Arena Reverb Remit
The remit of the TC Electronic Arena Reverb was to have a single effects pedal that would house a host of organic-sounding reverbs; bringing together both old favourites and new heavenly-sounding additions. This is exactly what the pedal achieves. It gives a range of ten reverbs providing everything from hall to lively springs, and includes four new and exclusive sounds; wrapping your tone in natural-sounding ambience without muddying your instrument’s tone.
New Kids on the Block
As mentioned above a good number of original Hall of Fame Reverbs are included in the TC Electronic Arena Reverb, but you also have those four new models. These are:
- Royal – Brilliant for melodic work, it gives the sound of a vast cathedral and adds slight modulation to the tail.
- Parliament – A luscious hall sound.
- Season – A tasty spring ‘verb.
- Passage – Great for adding some tang to rhythm work, this reverb gives a smaller room sound.
TonePrint – Signature Tones Straight to your Pedal
Incorporating TonePrint technology into the TC Electronic Arena Reverb Effect Pedal gives you the ability to quickly swap out an additional reverb of any kind you like. TonePrint is made up of a free to download editor for PC/Mac and iPad, a free library of user-created tones (including tones from artists such as: Paul Gilbert, Guthrie Govan, Steve Morse and many others), and a free app (iOS and Android versions available).
You download or create the tones you want, tweak them in the editor, if you wish, and then beam them wirelessly into the pedal. So you can literally be carrying a library of effects in your mobile phone, at no cost.
