Teenage Engineering, a company that oozes innovation has teamed up with Swedish fashion brand, Cheap Monday to launch the Pocket Operator series. These remarkable, innovative synthesizers are designed to be used by everyone, making music creation as fun and free-form as possible all whilst delivering premium sound, features and effects.
The Teenage Engineering PO-14 comes with a blend of basses past and present ranging from FM, phase distortion, wavetable to physical modeled string. A 16th sound serves as a mini drum machine to add a percussive hint to your sequence.
Easilly glide between a total of 16 built in patterns to instantly start making powerful basslines to add to loops and songs. These patterns can then be 'chained' together to create more complex music.
To put your own unique mark on the map, the PO-14 also contains a 16 step sequencer to record your own custom basslines. Once you have your sequence, you can then apply any of the built-in 16 effects including delay, bit-crusher, stutter, shuffle and more for some seriously disturbing basslines.
The Teenage Engineering PO-14 leaves nothing to the imagination with all circuitry, components and artwork exposed. The built in LCD screen features clear visual guides on pattern style, tempo, mode and sync info as well as some quirky animations.
Underneath, you will find a caddy for 2 x AAA batteries that will power the unit for a staggering amount of time! These sit snugly under the built in stand.
As with the other Pocket Operators, the PO-14 has a built in Jam Sync feature complete with audio through thanks to the built in 3.5mm jack in/out connections. Depending on how you want to connect your units, you can choose from one of 5 sync modes that can utilise stereo audio or divide the left and right signals to chain mono audio on one channel and a pulse on the other. You can even use an iPhone, Korg Volca or computer as a sync master or slave making the PO-14 feel at home in your existing set up!
Making addictive basslines has never been so easy. Mixing fun and innovation, the Teenage Engineering PO-14 Sub will satisfy all of your low-frequency needs.
