At the centre of the Vox AC15HW1 amp is an all-tube design giving a truly vibrant tone. The amp is made up of 3 vacuum tube elements, these are the ECC83/12AX7 preamp: (x3), EL84 power amp (x2) and EZ81 rectifier.

True to tradition the Vox AC15HW1 amp features a 2-channel design with Normal and Top Boost channels, Top Boost producing the acclaimed AC30 sound. The Top Boost also has increased functionality with VOX's inclusion of a COOL/HOT switch. COOL leaves the Top Boost untouched but HOT gives richer gain for a purer sound, by bypassing the circuitry. This can be done on a whim as the amp comes with a footswitch to flip between the two settings at your leisure. Along with the volume control Normal channel also has a Bright switch to enhance the upper harmonics of the amps tone.

While it has roots steeped in the legendary Sonics of the AC30, the Vox AC15HW1 brings the amp up-to-date by providing the flexibility to cater for a host of musical genres with control over the volume/gain relationship given by the amps Output Power switch and Master Volume control. Purists can opt to bypass the master volume completely with the MV/BYPASS switch to get a true AC30 tone.

The 15 Watt Vox AC15HW1 amp offers up its sound through a single Celestion G12M Greenback 12" speaker, known for its controlled top-end and expansive mid-range attack.
