Tube and solid-state, vintage and modern, clean and dirty-the new VR Series combo amplifiers have it all. Using our proven and popular Vox Valve Reactor (VR) circuitry, the Vox AC30 VR provides a diverse soundscape of authentic and satisfying tones from a single amp.

Play in Style

Using an "old-school" split-panel design, the Vox AC30VR Amplifier offers two distinct channels- Normal and Overdrive-with the Overdrive channel adding a separate Gain knob. In addition, the overdrive Style button delivers two distinctive flavours.

In Control

Equipped with two custom-designed 12" Celestion speakers, the Vox AC30VR delivers a roaring 30 watts of power. The Normal channel offers both Bass and Treble tone controls, along with a single Volume knob. A Gain knob has been added to the Overdrive channel, as well as a Middle control for more defined tone shaping. In the Master section, the Vox AC30VR features the unique Tone Cut circuit knob for dampening the high-end frequencies. Master Reverb and Master Volume controls are also provided.

Back for More

The Vox AC30VR's back panel features an external speaker jack for use with an 8 ohm extension cabinet. Using an extension cabinet will mute the internal speaker. Also provided is a jack for the optional Vox VFS2 dual footswitch, which offers hands-free channel-switching and reverb on/off action.

Customer Reviews
Great clean sound.
Posted on 12/06/2012 by Aidan I borrowed this amp for a few days, as I was taking it down to our gig for our guitarist.
It can make a cheap, nasty, guitar sound beautiful.
The controls are a little confusing to get your head around at first, but after that, it becomes easy.
It lacks modern amp features like saving presets, but it works and that's all that matters to be (I prefer traditional amplifiers).

I would recommend buying a distortion pedal with this, as the overdrive sounds a little forced and unnatural. But the amp was bought for its clean sound, and it really is stunning.

Weight is a main thing (at least when you don't have a roadie) when your amp doesn't have wheels, and the half solid state-ness of this amp really cuts back on the weight, but you still get that "warm tube" smell after a long set.

It gets every style done, we use this amp for metal and punk and clean alt. rock stuff, and there's not a single fault to it.

Amazing amp for somebody who knows how to use it. I'm not one of those people, but it still sounded good enough.

Just make sure you own a pedal board.
