Vox have introduced the brand new AV range of amplifiers, including the AV30 Analog Valve Guitar Amplifier. It is commonly accepted among guitarists that an analog circuitry in an amp, especially a tube amp, produces a very unique, individual sound. However it can be incredibly difficult to seek out a top quality tube amp that falls within an economical price bracket, but the Vox AV30 fits both criteria. Vox have selected prime components to construct their AV series of amplifiers, and the AV30 is the wonderful middle choice in size and power of the three amplifiers on offer.
ADVANCED, NEW SOUNDS
The AV30 hails from the new series of Vox amps which aim to produce a dynamic range of new and innovative tube sounds without a big price tag. The AV30 has 30 watts of power driven by two 12AX7 tubes, one for the preamp and the other for the power amp which further enhances the overall sound output.
In total there are eight analog preamp circuits which mirror the sound of eight tube amps. This facility enables you to choose from a wide range of different tones, from clean and rich to some real high-gain, and everything in between.
CONTROLS AND EFFECTS
Vox have added four modes to the AV series of amplifiers so that you can accurately adjust the response of the vacuum tube circuitry. Bright and Fat switches alter the preamp tubes, with Bright allowing you to boost high frequencies, and Fat enabling you to boost low end frequencies. Bias and Reactor buttons can be used to modify the power amp tubes; Bias can change between clean or distortion, whereby the Reactor switch helps to adjust the amount of feedback to the power amp. These four small slide buttons open up a whole spectrum of new tones to experiment with.
An important part of the AV30 amp is that it is constructed with an integrated baffle and bass-reflex structure which accomplishes a fluent, dynamic sound output while ensuring any unwanted vibration is completely reduced.
Vox have included three fantastic built-in effects in the AV30, Modulation, Delay and Reverb, thus allowing you to contour your sound to suit your playing style. There is also a Power level control which allows you to adjust the overall volume of your guitar without compromising on the tone.
To plug in and play, the Vox AV30 has a standard input jack for you to connect to. The Headphone jack is not just any ordinary jack, but allows you to hear yourself play with a more realistic atmosphere. The design of the AV30 also means you can successfully plug in an external audio device and the inner circuitry will cope perfectly. There is also the option to use a footswitch if you wish to either change channels, or engage / disengage an effects pedal, making this amp a perfect on-stage companion at a gig.
The AV30 Analog Valve Guitar Amplifier is ingenious and affordable from Vox, empowering you with an abundance of awesome tube tones at your fingertips.
