Roaring into the music scene in 1967 to thunderous applause and saliva a-plenty, the original Vox V846 Wah Wah Pedal was quickly picked up by rock aficionados, for its amazing Vox sound, which was used with the instruments of legends. One of the Vox V846 Wah Wah Pedal’s credits is its use by Jimi Hendrix on the track Voodoo Chile at Woodstock 1969!
Now after an absence of over forty years the pedal is back, in hand-wired form, to become the Vox V846-HW Hand-Wired Wah Wah Pedal. More than just a mere recreation of a legend past and not wanting to rest on the laurels of past success Vox have built upon this original concept.
By giving the most efficient signal path the Vox V846-HW Wah Wah Pedal’s hand-wired turret board construction ensures the most accurate response possible. Carefully selected premium components have also been used to get the very best fidelity and tone possible. Specially voiced & vintage spec’ed the Vox V846 Hand-Wired Wah Wah Pedal features a Halo-type inductor. With specially selected magnetic core material and windings, this is as close as you can get to the original this side of the ‘60s! The potentiometer has also has also been given a facelift to offer unparalleled control and super-sensitive response.
Other component boasts of the Vox V846-HW Pedal include: carbon composite resistors (made in Japan by KAMAYA) utilised for their low-noise and uncoloured sound, and high-spec polyester film capacitors, as used in Vox Hand-Wired amps. A true bypass has also been added to preserve tone, and avoid any unwanted colouration, when the Vox V846-HW Pedal is not in use.
The Vox V846-HW Hand-Wired Wah Wah Pedal is also typically hardwearing, with a robust die-cast body, with a sandblasted exterior and crepe finish, housing a reliable and great-feeling Carling Technologies footswitch.
