The Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar is designed for the beginner guitar player in mind, giving those new to the instrument a low-cost but high quality option that, with the Yamaha brand attached to it, you know you can put your faith in.
The C40 exceeds its remit with a display of exceptional playability and superb tone that would normally belong in a higher price bracket. The soundboard has been crafted from a classic tonewood in guitar construction, spruce. This provides the instrument’s loud projection, and clear and bright tone that sings lovingly from the soundhole, which itself has been tastefully decorated with a traditional rosette.
Not overly dissimilar from mahogany, meranti has been used to construct the back and sides of the guitar, boosting the projection even further and strengthening the instrument, ensuring it will be with you for years to come, along with working with the spruce to even out the tonal response. The guitar has also been coated with an ultra-thin lacquer finish, which protects it, whilst also allowing the woods beneath it to breath and resonate freely.
The Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar’s neck is made of nato and has been contoured to give the beginner a comfortable playing surface, while the rosewood fingerboard atop this offers even fret positioning and a set of quality machine heads have been put in place at the headstock, to keep you in tune for longer.
