The FG830 is a top quality guitar which hails from the best-selling acoustic series in the world, the Yamaha FG series. Yamaha have used some new and advanced techniques in the structure of the FG830, keeping in line with over 50 years of expertly built FG guitars whilst also including some modern appointments that make this model ultimately better than before.
BODY AND BRACING
Yamaha did their research with regards to choosing the best tonewoods and also spent time on developing a very relevant new type of body bracing. The FG830 has a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood in the back and sides. This tonewood pairing allows the FG830 to project with plenty of clarity, volume and depth, thus livening up any room with its beautiful sound and better sustain.
Beneath the soundboard, this FG model has new scalloped bracing; this new development boosts and strengthens the low to mid range frequencies. Yamaha have painstakingly tried and tested this new method to achieve the ideal acoustic sound while jointly reinforcing the soundboard.
A robust nato neck is firmly fitted to the body of the FG830 and is paired with a smooth, rosewood fingerboard. With such a slick playing surface, the FG830 has a comfortable feel in your hand. White dot inlays decorate the frets to direct you, and there are 20 frets to explore in total.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
The FG830 is fitted with a sturdy rosewood bridge which promotes a better sustain and intonation by holding a strong connection between the body and strings.
A convenient feature, especially for beginners, is that the die-cast chrome tuners do maintain an accurate tuning while you play. The headstock also features a striking cream binding just as it is on the neck and body.
An abalone, black and white inlay embellishes the soundhole and is accompanied by a protective tortoise pattern pickguard.
The Yamaha FG830 is yet another fine acoustic model to come out of the leading FG series with appointments that truly enhance the overall playing experience.
