The Yamaha PSR E333 combines the great sounds and effects of the PSR series with PC compatibility and recording function. With 61 non-weighted, full-size keys, the PSR E333 weighs less than 5 kg, making ideal for use in homes, schools and anywhere that space is at a premium. Unlike the PSR E233, this model has a touch sensitive keyboard, giving a truer feel and greater expressiveness of sound.
The E333 uses Yamaha's AWM stereo sampling to produce high quality sounds. The Portable Grand option instantly transforms your keyboard into a concert grand piano with 32-note polyphony, enabling you to play classical pieces expressively. There are also 113 + 361 Xglite voices to choose from, alongside 13 drum/SFX/SE kits. The PSR E333 is also fully compatible with GM and Xglite. In addition to the range of sounds comes an impressive selection of effects, from 9 reverb settings, 4 chorus types, dual and split functions, and panel sustain. A room-filing spacious sound is delivered by the ultra-wide stereo sampling, meaning your playing will not go unnoticed. This sound is delivered by 2 x 2.5W amplifiers connected to 2 X 12cm speakers, producing a rich and distinctive sound quality.
The PSR E333 is ideal for use as an educational tool, thanks to the Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.) that allows you to play along to tracks, learn new chords, improve fluency, rhythm and aural skills. With this model you can also accompany your own playing, with a choice of 106 preset styles using multi fingering and style controls (into, main x 2, fill-in, ending). You also have the option of customising your own style, making the Yamaha PSR E333 a truly versatile and personalised instrument. The E333 boasts a music database of over 100 songs, activated via Yamaha's OTS (One Touch Setting). The PSR E333 has 102 preloaded songs, allowing you to sit back, listen and relax. You can easily keep track of all your settings with the LCD (92 mm x 32 mm) display, allowing you to keep an eye on all your individual customisations.
The Yamaha PSR E333 has a recording function, allowing you to record up to two tracks and playback via SMF. This function is a great tool for teachers, who wish to hear the tracks of students and track their progress. A full range of functions are available, including metronome, tempo range (11-280), transpose (-12 to 0, 0 to +12) and tuning. With the E333, you are firmly in control of every aspect of the keyboard's sound, making the task of accompanying different instruments enjoyable and rewarding. The PSR E333 also comes with an auto-power off mode, where the keyboard switches itself off after a set amount of time, helping conserve battery life.

Surpasses All Expectations
Overall Rating Posted on 20/08/2012 by Marc
Simply put, the Yamaha PSR-E333 has surpassed all our expectations. We wanted a keyboard for our daughter who was just beginning her lessons (she was 4 at the time). Dawsons recommended this keyboard to us as it's still cheap enough to be considered entry-level, yet has features essential for the learner (graded pressure keys, etc). Our daughter LOVES her keyboard and will soon be taking her grade 1 ABRSM exam. I can't thank the Dawsons team enough, we didn't know if our daughter would like learning (which she does) and my wife is learning alongside her as a result of the quality of this keyboard. The training mode, metronome, accompaniment, melodies, etc are fantastic. You can't go wrong with this as your first keyboard.

I'd never played the keyboard before buying this, but always had a passion for it. In short I love this thing. It's really well built and good quality. Just in case you are a beginner like me and you have no clue about keyboards then I'll tell you. You can enable and disable touch sensitivity on the keys. It has a little screen with a piano on it, so every time you play a key it shows up on the little screen and also shows you which musical note you are playing. It has built in songs. When you play the song each note played shows up on the little screen, so you can learn how to play the song. Unfortunately I was upset to know that a MIDI output USB cable is not included, but you can buy a decent one for about 5-10 pounds. Aside from that I am really happy to have bought it.

Really good fun

I bought this keyboard for my son who wanted to learn the piano/keyboard.
I didn't want to spend lots of money on it in case he lost interest. I think it is very good value for money and has brought lots of fun. Really like the lesson feature and pre-recorded songs as it encourages him to play and mess around on the keyboard (and learn by the back door) It’s been used on a daily basis since we got it!

As there is only one headphone socket (large size) you may want to consider ordering splitters: these will allow you to connect two sets of headphones to each keyboard. The use of a flexible splitter removes some of the strain that two headphone plugs might place upon the keyboard's headphone socket.
