The Yamaha YCL250 Clarinet has been a favourite of teachers and students alike for many years. It's easy to play, with an accurate and even tuning scale. Also, the key work is strong and durable, one of the most important factors in any entry-level clarinet. These factors combined with a very reasonable price have all helped elevate this clarinet to the top of the student range.
The main body of the instrument is made of ABS resin. As well as making it more lightweight than wood, the sound quality is similar to a more expensive wooden clarinet, but makes it easier to maintain. The ABS is resistant to moisture and cracking and so doesn't need the aftercare of a wooden instrument.
The body has been given a matt finish to give it the appearance of a wooden clarinet. The keys are made of durable nickel silver, then silver-plated to give them a bright, easily polished finish.
The YCL250 has revolutionary Valentino pads- these synthetic pads are extremely resistant to moisture and oil and less sensitive to temperature changes like traditional pads are.
The bell of the YCL250 has a new resonance chamber designed specifically to aid projection and improve intonation in the lower register of the clarinet.
The YCL250 comes with a newly designed backpack style case for easy transportation to-and-from school and rehearsals. Also included is a 6C Yamaha mouthpiece.
