The Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Neo Guitar Effects Pedal delivers the superb reverb we've come to know and love from the Holy Grail, with a subtle yet very important addition alongside the Spring and Hall presets - Plate reverb!
Controls
The control layout of the Holy Grail Neo is nice and simple, with a three-way switch to select between Spring, Hall and Plate, and a large Reverb knob to dial in the exact amount of effect that you desire - go from a totally dry signal to a completely saturated signal by simply rotating the pot. The footswitch engages and disengages the pedal, with a status LED to indicate when the effect is switched on - a must for when you're gigging in a dark venue.
Effects
The Spring reverb effect evokes the sound of classic spring reverbs that are found in vintage guitar amplifiers. The twangy, fluttery effect of spring reverb is perfect for creating lushly textured tones. The Hall effect creates a wonderful breadth of space to give your tone a lift. The Plate reverb effect infuses your signal with a cool, shimmering reverb. Going from a subtle effect that finesses your signal to a spacious tonality is very simple. The simplicity is matched by the intricately detailed and complex effects that are produced.
Connectivity
As you'd expect, all you need to do to connect to this beauty is plug your dry signal into the available 1/4" input jack. A single output routes your effect-laden signal to the next pedal in your chain, amp, interface, etc.
The diminutive size of the Holy Grail Neo means that it can delicately slot into any setup with the greatest of ease. No matter how extensive or full your set-up may be, there is always space for one of these beauties.
Whether you're an amateur or a professional, hitting the studio, stage or band rehearsal, the Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Neo Guitar Effects Pedal should be at the top of your list of essential pedalboard items. The level of control available is nothing short of astonishing, and its diminutive size allows it to slot into even the most hectic of arrangements with ease.
