The Taylor 814ce V-Class Electro Acoustic Guitar in Natural finish features Taylor's pioneering V-Class bracing pattern, which enhances the already impressive character and performance of the 814ce. Featuring premium appointments throughout, the 814ce comes with a Taylor Deluxe hardshell case to get your pride and joy from A to B safely and in style.
The 814ce is shaped to Taylor's Grand Auditorium (GA) body style, which is often described at the ultimate all-purpose model for tackling any musical style. Whether you prefer to play fingerstyle or with a pick, the balanced dimensions of the 814ce make it a joy to perform with. The back and sides are built using Indian rosewood, which establishes a firm and unyielding midrange tonal foundation. Paired with this is a solid Sitka spruce top, a wood that is noted for its impressive resonance that encourages a broad dynamic range with crisp clear tones. The understated natural finish is protected by a layer of gloss to protect and preserve the wood for as long as possible, allowing it to age gracefully.
Taylor's revolutionary V-Class bracing pattern is an evolution in guitar soundboard design, resulting in a variety of profound improvements to the 814ce. Increased soundboard stiffness translates to greater volume, whilst superior stiffness along the middle of the guitar ensures that strings maintain motion for length resonance to result in enviable sustain. Not only that but intonation is enhanced so that chords and notes retain greater consistency across the entire length of the neck. Whether you're strumming along to your favourite tracks at home, hitting the studio to lay down some recordings or performing to adoring fans on stage, the V-Class bracing pattern ensures that you're always at the top of your game.
Joined to the body via a scarf joint is a supple yet supportive tropical mahogany neck, which offers a generous 25.5-inch scale length to optimise string consistency. The satin finish across the neck prevents stickiness or tackiness from holding you back during performances. Married to the neck is a glorious West African ebony fingerboard, which is home to 20 frets that are adorned with unique Element inlays to guide your way. Ebony binding ensures smooth transitions between each and every fret, whilst the elegant Venetian cutaway allows the highest reaches of the neck to be accessed comfortably.
The 814ce benefits from Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics system, which translates the rich timbre of the guitar with the utmost clarity when playing via an amplifier. Taylor's ground-breaking behind-the-saddle design captures the subtle nuances of your performance by closely monitoring the pendulum-like movement of sound transferred from the strings via crystals installed behind the saddle. With an enhanced preamp design, the 814ce offers a hotter output to make it simpler to plug-and-play.
Taylor have equipped the 814ce with gig-ready hardware from headstock to end pin. The headstock is home to Taylor's standard tuning machines, which uphold tuning integrity dutifully throughout each and every performance. The body is home to a micarta saddle with West African ebony bridge pins featuring abalone dot, which creates a flush connection between strings and body.
